You can find numerous programs which may help you keep track of stocks, contacts, clients and other aspects of your business. Optimik is designed for carpenters, window makers, material cutters or any other persons who work in similar fields of expertise. The software can help them keep track of products, jobs or cutting plans. It also provides a number of universal features, for managing stocks, documents and contacts, which you can use, regardless of what type of business you are running.

A free version is available, but it has a few restrictions. If you want the unrestricted version, you must pay for it. Optimik can be downloaded and installed in about a minute. You will not have to make any complex settings along the way, so you may run the program immediately.

The software allows you to create one or more databases, which are saved on your hard drive, as single files. Alternatively, you may create and access a database, on a remote server. After creating or selecting a database, Optimik will load its main interface. It displays a series of large, colored buttons, which give you access to various managers, for products, jobs, cutting plans and more.

You can organize jobs, products and other details on separate windows. If you need to switch from one manager to another, you may click one of the buttons, located on the window's title bar, instead of closing the window and clicking another button, on the main interface. Products can be organized in different groups. For example, you may want to create furniture items for a certain room. Additionally, you may add certain items to a product, such as wooden boards, metal bars or other materials which are added and organized in the Stock section.

When you create a new job, you have to specify a job number, a start date and deadline, a customer and a job status. Clients, products and product items can be selected from the existing database, so you don't have to fill in countless input fields. The created jobs can be sent to the cutting plans manager. Depending on your job's details, the software will calculate how many pieces you need and it will illustrate their dimensions and other details. You should also know that Optimik will calculate all the costs, from cutting materials to executing a job.
